One of my favorite movies is the Julia Roberts flick “Pretty Woman”. The movie is full of colorful characters who have long traded their dream in exchange for survival. The redemptive thread of this classic movie begins when Julia Roberts starts to “dream again”. First, she starts to see herself differently, and then she starts to see possibilities for her future that had long been buried underneath the disappointments of life. The end of the movie challenges us all with the statement… “what’s your dream?”
When we were little girls our heads were filled with the dreams of what could be; the sky was truly the limit and our hearts knew no limitation. However, time and circumstances have a way of dimming our ability to dream… convincing us that the dreams of life we once held dear are silly and juvenile and we resign ourselves to settle into a belief that dreams are something best relegated to fairy tales. I believe that in this next season that God is wanting to restore a dream to the heart of His daughters across the earth.
Our God is the ultimate Dreamer! He dreamed a dream of a world with lush landscapes and beautifully wild and raging seas, a planet filled with jungles and deserts and animals of every color and shape and size. He dreamed of you and me and every person on earth from the beginning of time till it’s end. The same God that dreamed such an expansive dream and saw it come to pass is the same God that has put dreams in your heart. A woman robbed of her ability to dream is a woman who has been robbed of her ability to truly live.
Our God wants to restore the dream of the broken, the cynical, the wounded and the hard hearted. At Cherish Conference 2015 we are excited to create an atmosphere that will help awaken the dreams in the heart of every woman!
Can’t wait to dream with you!
